<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>American golfers are even more homogeneous and more conservative than their global colleagues, Selcraig asserts, citing a Sports Illustrated survey of 76 P.G.A. tour players: 91 percent endorsed the confirmation of Justice Samuel A. Alito Jr.; 88 percent supported the invasion of Iraq; and 0 percent had seen “Brokeback Mountain.” Not science, perhaps, but not unrevealing.</div>

I've never had so much respect for golfing as I do after reading that.

Guess we won't be seeing "Brokeback 18th Hole" any time soon.

    1. He's not a Marxist, he's a culturally liberal NYTimes writer. I'm sure when push comes to shove he'll start advocating labor camps for WIC recipients, as long as he can still visit the MoMA. He didn't say "Gay people should all get medicaid and tax breaks", he said "OMG golfers haven't seen Brokeback!" (paraphrase)

    2. He should probably also look at the NY Times archives during the lead-up to Gulf War 2K3 because he seems to be having a fit of amnesia w/r/t the Times's general editorial position on the invasion

Well, presumably a Marxist is familiar with actual Marxist ideology, whereas a "culturally liberal NYTimes writer" is familiar only with vacuity...

I guess respect will always be a priority, more important than a hole-in-one.
